PURPOSE:To detect whether there is a crack or not by sticking or embedding an optical fiber on or in a steel tower for power transmission and a base part and detecting the optical transmission of the optical fiber. CONSTITUTION:The optical fiber 3 is stuck near the center part of the steel tower 1 where a main column material 1a and an oblique material 1b are easy to crack, and further embedded in the concrete of the base part 2 of the steel tower 1 and stuck on the border of the main column material 1a. Consequently, if the main column material 1a of the steel tower cracks to break the optical fiber 3 stuck thereupon, the light transmission of the optical fiber 3 is cut off and the crack is detected easily. |
