The process for producing active formed coke as granulate on the basis of pretreated pit coal provides to pass the preformed granulate through different treatment areas of a shaft (1) and to expose it along its path to a burning and activating process, as well as to a further treatment. The granulates are fed in plane heaps adapted to the cross-section of the shaft and have the same thickness with respect to the cross-section of the latter; they are supported in stages by grates (2) with free intervals therebetween. By maintaining predetermined dwelling times in the various stages, the heaps traverse the treatment areas and the shaft from top to bottom. In the treatment areas, they are traversed by gases or vapours (31) introduced sideways in the intervals separating adjacent heaps. The passage of the heaps from one grate to the other is effected by a regulated motion taking out at least partially grate bars (15, 16) from the grate plane, so that the granulates form again on the following grate a heap having the same thickness with respect to the cross-section.
|
