A gas line has an outer shell (1) which reaches over only part of the circumferential region and is prefabricated with a heat-insulating lining (5). For this purpose, heat-insulating material (3) is laid onto the inside of the outer shell (1) and covered by means of a prefabricated metal sheet (5) of low thickness, which can be connected to the outer shell (1) at radially outwardly bent-off edge sections (6). In this way, a lining (5) which is securely protected against admission of the gas flow and has a smooth inner wall is produced. The heat-insulating material (3) comprises at least one ply (10 or 11) of filament yarn and a further ply (for example 13), of ceramic felt for instance, the two plys being firmly connected to each other by quilting seams (12). This produces a lining (5) which as a whole is vibration-proof and shock-proof and is also otherwise insensitive to deformations of the outer shell (1). <IMAGE>
