According to the invention, that end face of a piston for a disc brake of motor vehicles which rests against the brake shoe has a multiplicity of raised portions. During the braking operation, these raised portions dig into the backplate for the brake-shoe lining due to the application force and thus prevent braking noise at the brake- shoe.
