The invention relates to a brake pressure control valve for the antilock protection of a motor vehicle. The valve is triggered by a proportional magnet and can be shifted from a defined middle position, in which the valve chamber connected to the brake cylinder is completely shut off both from the pressure medium source and from the tank, by corresponding electrical triggering of the proportional magnet into a working position in which the valve chamber is connected either to the pressure medium source or to the tank.
