PURPOSE:To prevent the run out, crash, etc. of a rolling material by providing a projection to the top side of a chock mount guide and engaging a roller attached to an outside guide with the projection. CONSTITUTION:Upper guides and lower guides are respectively provided to upper and lower work rolls via roll chocks. A plane C is provided to the projecting part in the upper part of each upper guide and a support roller 18 is disposed to an arm 17having a fulcrum pin 16 in part of the outside guide 12. The guide is so constituted that the plane C and the roller 18 contact with each other so as to maintain the level of the outside guide 12 flush with the upper guide. The upper guide shifts integrally with the work roll 1 in the axial direction in the case of shifting the roll to change the sheet width of the rolling material, etc. The guide moves smoothly in the shift direction even if the roller 18 contacts with the plane C. The run out, crach, etc. of the rolling material are therefore prevented and the stable guiding is made possible in the stage of a roll diameter change, etc. |
