Fluid friction clutch

A description is given of a fluid friction clutch, in particular for motor vehicle differentials. The fluid friction clutch has an annular chamber in which clutch plates (8, 9) are arranged. The volume of the annular chamber can be increased and thereby provides a pressure compensation. The increase in volume is accompanied by a change in the spacings of the individual clutch plates relative to one another. In addition to the pressure compensation, this leads to a reduction in the evolution of heat in the friction clutch (1). <IMAGE>
