Domestic or drinking water storage container which has a cold-water pipe and a hot-water pipe (3, 2), both pipes (2, 3) each being connected via a branch line (4, 5) to an outer heat exchanger (6), to which a thermostat (9) is assigned, and a circulating pump (7) being arranged in the line (4) coming from the heat exchanger (6). Provided outside the storage container (1) is a measuring device (10, 12) which records the tapped domestic water and is equipped with a switching device which starts the reheating or recharging of the storage container content after each completed charging or heating process of the content of the storage container (1) and subsequent water removal when the preselected tapping quantity has flowed through the storage container (1). <IMAGE>
