PURPOSE:To provide a quick cooling device for liquid which permits setting of the surface temp. of a quick cooling roll for quick cooling and solidifying of molten liquid over a wide range by constituting respectively the part near the outside peripheral surface and inside part of said roll of a material having high heat conductivity and a material having low heat conductivity. CONSTITUTION:A quick cooling roll is formed by using, for example, copper, for the above-described material 11 having high heat conductivity and using, for example, stainless steel for a material 12 having low heat conductivity. This roll is of, for example, 20cm diameter and is coated with copper to 2mm. thickness. A xenon lamp is provided for heating the roll and a blow port for gaseous He cooled by liquid N2 is provided for cooling purpose to said roll so that the surface of the roll can be set at various temps. of -100-600 deg.C. Any set temp. is thereby attained within 10min. The above-mentioned quick cooling device for liquid enables therefore control of roll temp. which is previously impossible and easy setting of the surface temp. of the roll over a wide range. |
