METHOD FOR INSPECTING GRINDSTONE FOR GRINDING MILL ROLL

PURPOSE:To improve roll grinding efficiency by inspecting a grindstone by comparing an estimated grinding quantity obtained from the product of a detected load and a grinding time with an actual grinding quantity obtained from the difference between the profiles before and after grinding. CONSTITUTION:A grinding wheel 4 is rotated by supplying a hydraulic pressure by a hydraulic motor to a motor 5 used for driving the wheel 4. The wheel 4 is brought into press contact with a roll 2 through a pulse motor 12 and an eccentric body 11 to perform grinding. An estimated grinding quantity is indicated by the product of the difference between the hydraulic pressures at the time of loading the motor 5 and that of noloading and the holding time of whestone. The estimated grinding quantity is compared with an actual grinding quantity obtained from the difference between the profiles measured before and after the grinding respectively to rapidly seize the abnormality such as the clogging of whestone when the difference between both quantities is abnormally large or small. Accordingly, the roll grinding efficiency is improved by rapidly dealing with the abnormality.
