PURPOSE:To improve rotation precision and to facilitate manufacture by floating and rotating a rotating part, and supporting the rotating part spherically on spherical bearing parts at both end parts along an axis of rotation without contacting. CONSTITUTION:The rotating part 2 of an optical deflecting device consists of the rotation part 2 in a storage part 1, a driving part 3 which floats and rotates it magnetically, and the spherical bearing part 4 which supports the rotating part 2 with dynamic pressure without contacting. Then, a polygon mirror 9 is fitted to the rotation part 2 and grooves 21 and 26 for dynamic pressure generation are provided to the spherical bearing parts 15 and 16 at both ends of the bearing part 4. When the driving part 3 is powered on to rotate the rotating part 2 at, for example, 10,000r.p.m., dynamic pressure is generated with the grooves 21 and 26 to support the rotating part 2 without contacting, and deflected rotation is eliminated to improve the precision of the rotation. Further, the structure is simplified and the work and assembly are facilitated. |
