PURPOSE:To seize the aligning state of an extruder and to adjust the alignment by pressing a test plate inserted into a heated container, whose front-end opening is blocked, by a stem to squeeze out the test plate to the stem side and measuring the wall thickness of a formed cylindrical body. CONSTITUTION:A cover plate 11 having a fitting dummy block 4 is abutted on the opening of the front end of a container 1 to block the opening. An aluminum test plate is inserted into he container 1 in a heated state and is pressed by a steam 3. The eccentricity of stem 3 is seized, and the alignment of an extruder is adjusted, by measuring the side wall thickness of a cylindrical body 14 squeezed out to he gap of stem side. Then the alignment is adjusted in an extremely short time to improve the productivity of extruder.
