PURPOSE:To secure such a flat-plate type image tube as having reduced the number of driving electrodes, by installing a vertical scanning part constituting both first and second electrode groups and a beam modulating part consisting of both third and fourth electrode groups. CONSTITUTION:A first electrode group 23 sets up each of horizontally long electrode having long slits in a horizontal direction parallelly in a way of separating them away each other as far as vertical scanning line numbers in a vertical direction, and makes them being connected to common buses 23a and 23b on every other piece. A second electrode group 24 unifies two electrodes adjacent to the first electrode group 23, setting up this parallelly as separated with each other in a vertical direction. A third electrode group 25 sets up each of vertically long electrodes installing long slits in at least three lines in a horizontal direction in separating them away each other at specified intervals in the horizontal direction. A fourth electrode 26 trisects each electrode of the third electrode group 25 in a horizontal direction, and makes them being connected to common buses 26a, 26b and 26c on every two pieces. A shield electrode 27 is formed into such one that installs a lot of opening holes identical to the third electrode group 25. |
