PURPOSE:To accurately detect the unevenness of an object by performing uniform illumination by light transmission fibers without superposing the light receiving regions of light receiving fibers, by making the opening angle 2theta1 of each light transmitting fiber larger than the opening angle 2theta2 of each light receiving fiber. CONSTITUTION:Light transmitting fiber 11, 12... each having an opening angle 2theta1 and light receiving fiber 21, 22... each having an opening angle 2theta2 are parallelly arranged in a unidimensional or two-dimensional pattern at intervals D for obtaining predetermined resolving power and constituted so as to satisfy relation of theta1>theta2 between said opening angles 2theta1, 2theta2. Therefore, illumination regions S1, S2... shown by the solid line are superposed, in such a range that the distance L between the leading end of the fiber array and an object is LM and LP, to impart uniform illumination whereas light receiving regions R1, R2... shown by the dotted line are not superposed and the information of a distance based on the unevenness of the object can be detected accurately. |
