PURPOSE:To attain measurement very simply with an adequate measuring time and required accuracy without complicated operation by automating the setting of a time width of a gate signal generated from a gate signal generator so as to measure frequencies in a wide range of an external input signal being an object of frequency measurement. CONSTITUTION:When a gate signal generator 2 receives the reset signal, the content of the 2nd counter in the gate signal generator 2 is reset to zero and the counter enters the mode that the number of waves of an external input signal supplied through an input terminal 3 is counted at the same time. On the other hand, the counter 1 receives the said reset signal to change the content into zero, and when the first wave of the external input signal comes through the input terminal 3, the 2nd counter in the gate signal generator 2 is changed from ''0'' to ''1'', then the count operation is continued until a stop signal is received from a control circuit 6. |
