PURPOSE:A cathode ray tube of high brightness, obtained by using a fluorescent substance doped with a ferromagnetic metal and an undoped fluorescent substance in a fluorescent substance emitting green light on the fluorescent surface emitting light by stimulation with cathode rays. CONSTITUTION:A cathode ray tube obtained by using (A) 100pts.wt. fluorescent substance prepared by doping a fluorescent substance emitting green light, e.g. ZnS/Cu, Al, with 0.1-500ppm one or more of Fe, Co and Ni, and having 6-15mu average particle diameter and (B) 1-50pts.wt. fluorescent substance, undoped with the above-mentioned ferromagnetic metal, and having 3-9mu average particle diameter in said fluorescent substance emitting green light.
