PURPOSE:To improve the efficiency of an automatic cash transaction machine by performing automatically a balance inquiry transaction before input of a payment amount for confirmation of the balance and therefore eliminating an invalid transaction owing to a request for payment amount larger than the balance. CONSTITUTION:A customer pushes a transaction payment switch with inquiry for the balance (1) and puts a magnetic card into a card reading/receipt delivering unit (2). Then the customer feeds a password number through key operations (3). An automatic cash transaction machine performs a transaction for inquiry of the balance to a central electronic computer system with addition of an account number, a password number, etc. read out of the card as well as the password number fed by the key operations (4). These information are sent to the central electronic computer system (5). This computer system sends the information with addition of the balance information to the transaction machine after the customer is identified as the true person of the corresponding account (6). Receiving the balance information (6), the transaction machine displays said information to a display and prepares for input of an amount. |
