PURPOSE:To improve considerably working efficiency by controlling the blowing timing and blowing time of a paint in accordance with the transfer speed of a work and forming the protective film in the joint part of the work while transferring continuously the work. CONSTITUTION:A joining device 3 is provided on the upstream side of a bridle roll 1 on which a work W is wound and a device 4 for forming a protective film is provided on the passage for the work near the device 3 in a continuous treating live of iron and steel. A device 6 for tracking the joint part and a speed detector 7 are connected via a pulse oscillator 5 to the roll 1 and both devices 6, 7 are connected via a control device 9 to the device 4. The operation signal of the device 3 is transmitted to the device 6.
