<p>PURPOSE:To achieve proper flow characteristic of turbine quickly with correspondence to the change of operating condition by controlling variable capacity means for varying the flow characteristic of turbine in accordance with the detected level of turbine rotaion and air flow. CONSTITUTION:The flow characteristic of a turbine 11 in a turbo-charger 10 is varied through variable capacity means 13 provided in an exhaust tube 8 in the upstream. The variable capacity means 13 is provided with a flap valve 15 at the exhaust inlet section 14 while rotatably around the shaft 16 which is operated by an actuator 21 through an arm 19 and a rod 20. Here, the actuator 21 is functioned by feeding the supercharge pressure Pb into a positive pressure chamber 25 to be defined by a diaphragm 22 pressed through a spring 24 in an atmospheric chamber 23 where the supercharge pressure Pb is regulated through opening/closing of a solenoid valve 29 to be controlled through control means 34 on the basis of the output signals from an airflow meter 2 and a rotation sensor 33.</p> |
