PURPOSE:To obtain an alloy adaptable to various required working temps. from one alloy composition by carrying out heat treatment by rapid cooling from a temp. represented by a specified equation. CONSTITUTION:A shape memory Cu-Zn-Al alloy is heat treated by rapid cooling from a temp. T represented by the equation (where Tbeta is the transformation temp. of beta-solid soln.). By this method a shape memory alloy having various phase transformation temps. (Ms points) can be obtd. from one alloy composition by simple heat treatment. Accordingly, an alloy adaptable to various required working temps. can be obtd.
