摘要 |
PURPOSE:To obtain a negative zinc electrode for an alkaline battery which has a maintained quality level by preparing the gelling agent by thermally treating the sodium salt of carboxymethylcellulose in water. CONSTITUTION:A gelling agent is prepared by thermally treating the sodium salt of carboxymethylcellulose in water maintained at a temperature or at least 80 deg.C before drying the thermally treated sodium salt. A negative zinc electrode for an alkaline battery is formed by mixing the above gelling agent with alkaline electrolyte and a zinc powder. By the means mentioned above, the gel-like negative zinc electrode can be formed using a small amount of the gelling agent. Accordingly it is possible to improve the discharge characteristic and the low-temperature closed-circuit voltage of a silver oxide battery or the like. |
