PURPOSE:To increase uniformity of cell reaction by placing a matrix between a set of carbon fiber plates and placing them on a flat plate and pressing them from the central part to the periphery with a plurality of cylinders having the same center but different diameter in order to form one body. CONSTITUTION:A matrix 1b mainly comprising silicon carbide containing phosphoric acid is placed between a set of carbon fiber plates 1a whose one surface is covered with catalyst layer, and they are pressed to form a unit cell of fuel cell. When the unit cell is formed, the unit cell material 1 is placed on a flat plate, and a plurality of pressing cylinders 3a, 3b, and 3c which have the same center but different diameter respectively are arranged. The central part of the material 1 is pressed with the cylinder 3a having smaller diameter, then pressed with cylinders 3b and 3c having larger diameter in order to form one body. The excess part of the matrix 1b is smoothly pushed out outside to form uniform thickness. Therefore, crossover and scattering of temperature distribution are eliminated. |
