PURPOSE:To smoothly transfer electrolyte to a positive mix by forming a gap of 0.1-0.8mm. between a positive mix and the inner wall of a positive case in a flat type nonaqueous electrolyte battery when a battery is assembled. CONSTITUTION:Manganese dioxide, carbon black, and a fluorine resin binder are mixed and the mixture is molded to form a disc-shaped positive mix 16. The positive mix 16 is placed in a stainless steel case 18 so that a gap 19 of about 0.5mm. is formed between the mix 16 and the inner wall of the case 18. A separator 15 is placed on the mix 16, and nonaqueous electrolyte is poured thereon, and a sealing plate 13 in which metal lithium 14 is press-bonded is covered, then the opening of the case 18 is bent with a gasket 17 interposed to form a flat type nonaqueous electrolyte battery. By forming the gap 19, electrolyte is easily poured and smoothly transferred into the mix 16. Therefore, discharge performance is improved and the expansion of the mix 16 is effectively absorbed. |
