PURPOSE:To provide a titled sintered alloy which has an excellent breaking characteristic and improves a current chopping characteristic and welding resistance by consisting the alloy of Ag or Cu and W, Mo, Cr, Ti and the carbide thereof as well as a specific compsn. amt. of Co and Bi or Pb. CONSTITUTION:A sintered alloy for the contact point of a vacuum circuit breaker consists of Ag or/and Cu and >=1 kinds amond W, Mo, Cr, Ti and the carbide thereof, 0.2-6.5% Co, 0.01-0.5%, more preferably 0.1-0.3Bi or/and Pb. Said Ag or/and Cu are preferably incorporated therein at 30-45%. The Ag and Cu in the above-mentioned components is used as the high conductivity component at the contact point and the W, Mo, Cr, Ti and the carbide thereof are the arc-resistant components which have preferably about 1.5-3.0mu average grain size. The Co improves sinterability as a binder and the Bi and Pb provide a breaking characteristic to the alloy and contributes to an improvement in the current chopping characteristic and welding resistance.
