PURPOSE:Glycerol citrate fatty acid ester is added to suppository composition containing active ingredients to lower the viscosity and improve the fowability of the composition, thus giving the suppository composition that can be continuously charged into vessel by a certain amount to produce the suppository in vessel. CONSTITUTION:A powdery active ingredient such as an anti-inflammatory analgesic such as aspirin, a skeletal muscle relaxant such as chlorzoxazone, penicillin antibiotic such as amoxicillin, or cephem antibiotic such as cephalexin is added to the suppository composition and it is combined with at least one selected from glycerol citrate-fatty acid esters, e.g., glycerol citrate-caprylate by 0.1-15wt% based on the base to give the objective suppository composition. Additionally, a surface active agent such as medium-chain fatty acid monoglyceride or sorbitol fatty acid ester can be added in order to accelerate the absorption and release of the active ingredients.
