PURPOSE:To make it possible to meet demand for change in the width of the web, obtaining a good winding roll by attaching a take-up unit which consists of a take-up arm, a take-up tension generator and a take-up driving power transmission gear, removably from the main body side. CONSTITUTION:The web which is cut into the specified width is put into either an odd number line or an even number line at a guide roll on it, then is forwarded to a take-up unit 14. In the unit 14 the take-up unit 14 attached with the take-up arm which matches the width of the slit is provided. On setting a handle 68 on a holder 70, a power delivered from a driving shaft 60 is transmitted to a pully 50 rotating a reel 46 which produces a rolled product 42. In this process a constant tension force is provided by a take-up tension generator 49 attached with a powder clutch. After taking-up operation has been completed, a supporting beam 36 is removed from an unit mount 38, followed by the removal of the take-up unit 14 from the aperture, and next followed by the installation of another take-up unit by use of a removal dolly. Accordingly, the operation for removal and installation can be easily effected as required to meet change in the width of the web.
