PURPOSE:To make the entire space of a transfer paper supply device smaller, by providing a single paper supply device which is movable relative to a plurality of transfer paper storing sections. CONSTITUTION:When a paper supply device 7 is moved to a tray 11 selected by a control switch, paper feed is initiated. As the number of transfer papers are gradually decreased, the paper take-out roller 16 and arm of the paper supply device 7 which is made in contact with the topmost paper and a shield plate 24 belonging to the device 7 are gradually rotated downward. However, when the arm 21 is rotated beyond a certain predetermined amount, a sensor 23 which is shielded by the shield plate 24 is uncovered in association with the rotation of the shield plate 24 so that light rays or magnetic force lines from a sensor 23 are released. With this release an electrical signal for instructing the lowering of the entire paper supply device 7 by means of a wire 8, etc. is issued. With this arrangement the position of the device 7 relative to the tray 11 is lowered, and the arm 21 is rotated upward until the arm 21 is present in a predetermined amount and as well the shield plate 24 shields the sensor 23. |
