<p>The motor vehicle door lock has the handle lever accessible from within the vehicle, connected to the actuating rod which leads to the lock. This lock is used especially in passenger motor vehicles and it ensures that the door is not inadvertently opened in case of a collision. The actuating rod (11, 17) is split rod with an intermediate element (16) which yields under compressive forces. This intermediate element (16) consists of a ratchet arrangement (20) acting in conjunction with the toothed end of the rod part (11). The ratchet has a leaf spring engaging behind the saw tooth projections on the end of the rod part.</p> |
