PURPOSE:To improve a retrieving speed by forming a means for setting up priority on the retrieval items of retrieving data and selecting an item having high priority to retrieve the items in the order of high priority. CONSTITUTION:An item having the highest priority, e.g. ''NAME'', out of respective items in retrieving data 11 is selected and set up in the 1st and 2nd retrieving selectors 12, 14 by a selection controller 13. Names are successively read out from a retrieving information block 15 by an address selector 16 and compared with the name of the retrieving data passed through the 1st retrieval selector 12 by a coincide detecting circuit 17. When both the data coincide with each other, the circuit 17 generates an output and stops an oscillator 19 to stop counting-up of a counter 18. At that time, the data outputted to a data bus DB are the one obtained from the 1st retrieving information block. After processing the data, similar process is repeated to obtain the succeeding data having the same name, if necessary.
