PURPOSE:To attain input and read of a lot of picture information continuously in a short time by constituting the reader that plural area image sensors are provided and they are formed movably. CONSTITUTION:After luminous flux from a light source 11 is transmitted through a frame of an original picture image 13a of a microfilm 13, the flux is expanded and projected on a screen 5. The picture image is shrinked again and irradiated simultaneously on all faces of an area sensor 17a. A photoelectric converter 17 completing the reception of light is moved in a direction (a), the micro film 13 is moved in a direction (b) at the same time when the next area sensor 17x comes to the position A, and when the next one-frame 13x comes to a position B, the next area sensor 17x placed at the position A receives the picture image of the frame 13x. Thus, the input of picture image is executed continuously without being intermitted.
