PURPOSE:To improve the use rate of a light receiving face by constituting a device so that the light receiving face is about elliptic and arranging it so that the line connecting respective optical axes of incident luminous fluxes on the light receiving face of exit luminous fluxes from optical fibers coincides approximately with the longer axis of this ellipticity. CONSTITUTION:Exit lights from two optical fibers 1 arranged in parallel are condensed by a lens 2 and are formed an image on an elliptic light receiving face 7 of a light receiving semiconductor element 6. In this case, the element is so adjusted that the direction of the longer axis of the elliptic light receiving face 7 coincides with the direction of arrangement of two optical fibers 1, and the magnification of the image is so selected most suitably that the elliptic light receiving gace is used most effectively. In this invention, the light receiving face of the photosensor is made elliptic to enhance the use rate of the light receiving face. |
