PURPOSE:To improve a feeling of driving comfortableness and driving stability in a car, by making up a spring constant of a damper optionally settable to any of such one compounding spring constants of both main and subsprings or the spring constant of the main spring. CONSTITUTION:In time of normal driving of a car, by way of example, an on-off valve in an interconnecting passage 11 is opened, while an oil chamber A partitioned by a piston 7 inside a cylinder 6 and an oil chamber B partitioned by a diaphragm 10 of an accumulator 9 are interconnected with each other. Therefore, following undulations on a road surface, when, a cylinder 2 and a piston rod 3 repeat their face-to-face expanding motions, both main and subsprings 19 and 8 expand or contract as well, and following this motion the piston 7 moves up and down whereby oil reciprocates between both oil chambers A and B. At this time, a spring constant of a damper 1 shows a relatively low value compounding spring constants of both these springs 8 and 19, therefore a feeling of driving comfortableness in the car comes into being relatively favorable. |
