PURPOSE:To enable to mount an air purifier on the outer wall of an air conditioner at a later period and at the same time to interlock the air conditioner with the air purifier by a structure wherein a switch, which interlocks with the operation of the air purifier when the air conditioner is brought into operation, is provided. CONSTITUTION:Detachable side plates 2 are provided on both sides of the main body 1 of a pendant type air conditioner so as to mount the main body 3 of an air purifier on its left side surface. The left side plate 1 of the air conditioner 1 is removed from the air conditioner main body and mounted on the left side surface of the air purifier. A remote control switch 4 is connected to the air conditioner main body 1. The operating switch 8 and the thermostat 9 of the switch 4 perform the ON-OFF control of a fan 10 for the air conditioner and at the same time the ON-OFF control of a fan 14 and a compressor 15 in an outdoor unit 13. When the operating switch 8 is set to a position of ''blast'', ''strong cold blast'' or ''weak cold blast'', the air purifier 3 is also put into operation together with the air conditioner 1. Further, when the operating switch is set to the ''stop'' position, both the air purifier and air conditioner come to a standstill.
