PURPOSE:To enhance sensitivity and durability by incorporating a specified hydrazone compd. in the electrostatic charge generating layer of a functionally separated laminated type photosensitive body. CONSTITUTION:The charge generating layer (CGL) of a functionally separated laminated type photosensitive body contains, preferably, in 0.01-2pts.wt. per 1pt.wt. of CGL, a kind of hydrazone compd. represented by formulae I and IIin which R<1>, R<2> are each 1-12C alkyl, 7-20C aralkyl, aryl, or both may form a hetero ring together with each other; R<3> is H, 1-12C alkyl, 7-20C aralkyl, or aryl; R<4>, R<7> are each H, 1-12C alkyl, 7-20 aralkyl, halogen, or the like; R<5>, R<6>, R<8> are each 1-12C alkyl, 7-20C aralkyl, aryl, or the like, or R<5> and R<6> may link to each other to form an N-contg. hetero ring; R<9> is aryl or a heterocyclic group; X is formula II; m is 0 or 1; Y is O, S, Se, or the like; Z is an atomic group necessary for forming a benzene or naphthalene ring. It is preferred to form CGL on a conductive substrate and a charge transfer layer on CGL, thus permitting sensitivity and durability to be enhanced. |
