The subject of the invention is an improved set square for determining angles, which can be fitted to a machine tool table. This set square is noteworthy in that it comprises a base plate 1 which is internally hollowed by an axial opening 1<1> in order to allow a hub 2 to be engaged and centred, around which hub is disposed in this recess a graduated rotating base, the said base plate being arranged in its middle part with cap-shaped means allowing articulation of the table 7 fitted with complementary means, one or more connection rods 11, one end of which being fixed to the base plate and the other subjected to controlled sliding on the table, providing the articulation and controlled angular pivoting of the table facing the base plate. <IMAGE>
