The installation comprises particularly a unit for monitoring parameters representing the running of the trains, which comprises a comparator permanently comparing a nominal value taken from a previously prepared invariant table and a measured value prepared on board and causing a safety device to act if the measured value is incompatible with the nominal value taken from the table according to the location of the train and the information which is transmitted to the train and which is a function of the signalling. Self-checking means cause said safety device to act in the event of malfunctioning. <IMAGE>
