PURPOSE:To minimize mistakes in key input so as to improve the efficiency of business management, by limiting the repeating frequency of a key input with the maximum repeating frequency outputted from a holding means when a repeat function is executed. CONSTITUTION:Key codes corresponding to the key switches of a keyboard 1 are inputted in a control section 2 through a line 11 when generated and subjected to the key input process of the control section 2. Moreover, a repeat signal indicating that a repeat condition is satisfied is outputted to another line 12. While the repeat condition is satisfied, the same key code is continuously generated on the line 11. The control section 2 separately performs normal key input processes and key input under the repeat condition depending on the existence/nonexistence of the repeat signal. Furthermore, the control section 2 rewrites the content of a memory 3 when maximum repeating frequency information is inputted from an externally connected device 5. In addition to the above, the control section 2 outputs key codes to the device 5, but makes control so that key codes cannot be outputted for more than a previously fixed time when key inputs are made under the repeat condition.
