PURPOSE:To enhance the electrifying efficiency and make it difficult that a discharging device is affected by noise, by providing a bias voltage applying means which applies a bias voltage, which is applied between the discharging device and a member which should receive ions, not to the discharging electrode side of this member and an alternating voltage applying means but to the induction electrode side of them. CONSTITUTION:A discharging member 1 is provided with a discharging electrode 2, an induction electrode 3, and a dielectric 4 interposed between them, and the dielectric 4 is formed into a uniform thickness with dielectric materials such as ceramics, mica, glass, Teflon, an epoxy resin, a polyester resin, or the like. Consequently, the shortest distance between the discharging electrode 2 and the induction electrode 3 is constant in the lengthwise direction of the discharging member 1, and the discharging electrode 2 and the induction electrode 3 are made of conductive materials. Another dielectric 5 is adhered to the back of the induction electrode 3, and the back dielectric 5 is desirable with respect to improvement of the mechanical strength of the discharging member 1 or the like. When an alternating voltage is applied between the discharging electrode 2 and the induction electrode 3 of the discharging member 1 constituted in this manner, positive and negative ions are generated alternately near the discharging electrode 2. |
