PURPOSE:To improve the sliding characteristic against a magnetic head and to obtain the titled magnetic recording medium without generating the baking on the magnetic head especially of an alloy by providing a magnetic layer contg. a specified organic zinc compd. on a nonmagnetic supporting body. CONSTITUTION:An organic zinc compd. shown by the formula (R is 1-20C alkyl) is dissolved into a magnetic paint contg. ferromagnetic powder and a binder. And the obtained magnetic paint is coated on a nonmagnetic supporting body, dried, and cured to form a magnetic layer. The magnetic powder is previously added to a soln. of the organic zinc compd., sufficiently mixed, filtered, and dried. And the obtained magnetic powder is dispersed in a soln. of the binder, and a dispersant and an abrasive is added, if necessary, to obtain the magnetic paint which is preferably used. The magnetic recording medium suitable for high-density recording, without any unfavorable influences on electromagnetic transducing characteristics, repeatedly usable, especially without the baking on a magnetic head, and having excellent durability can be obtained. |
