PURPOSE:To facilitate the speed change operation by monitoring the working oil in a hydraulic circuit for driving the transmission and repeating the speed change operation upon decision of incomplete speed change operation through said monitoring. CONSTITUTION:Detectors 190, 192 for detecting the amount of working oil flowing through a hydraulic circuit for driving the transmission are provided to feed the outputs to an engine control circuit 12 and upon decision of incomplete speed change operation through monitoring of the amount of working oil, speed change operation is repeated. Since the speed change operation is automated, the speed change operation of transmission is facilitated.
