The invention relates to a process for manufacturing air chambers. It consists in using, in a shaping cavity 3, a mandrel 5, the diameter D1 of one end of which is greater than the diameter D2 of its other end. This mandrel is held in a mould cavity between the inner wall of which and the mandrel a material of the rubber type is injected so as to form a cylindrical air-chamber element whose ends are placed so as to overlap and to join in order to form an annular air chamber.
