The invention relates to an optical cable having a loose structure. This cable includes a cylindrical support 2 hollowed out with a radial open cavity 3 extending longitudinally and in which an optical fibre 5 is housed loosely. The cavity is closed longitudinally by a part 9 which is inserted into this cavity over a given depth and exhibits, in cross-section, a profile matching that of the cavity.
