PURPOSE:To evaluate the chroma automatically and at a high speed by picking up a reference white color screen and a screen of the desired chroma of a color TV receiver to be checked to obtain chrominance signals and using an intensity ratio between chrominance signals of both screens to check the desired chroma of the screen. CONSTITUTION:A reference white color screen is projected to a color TV receiver 1 to be checked and then picked up by photoelectric transducers 3a-3c simultaneously via red, green and blue filters 2a-2c respectively. The red, green and blue color signals WR, WG and WB obtained by transducers 3a-3c are amplified by amplifiers 4a-4c respectively and stored to a memory 5. These chrominance signals are read simulatneously out of the memory 5 and supplied to a signal intensity arithmetic device 6. Then the device 6 performs an arithmetic with each of supplied chrominance signals to obtain an intensity ratio of those chrominance signals between the white color screen and a screen of the desired chroma. Hereafter both the chroma and hue are obtained to a screen of the desired chroma and then displayed at a chroma display device 9 and a hue display device 10 respectively.
