摘要 A method and a device intended to obtain information regarding discontinuities and the mass flow rate of a flow using a Doppler type system, in which ultrasonic pulses emitted by a transducer 12 and reflected by discontinuities in the flow are converted into frequency spectra or into approximations of such spectra. It is thus possible to identify the discontinuities by comparison with spectra of known discontinuities, and to determine the concentrations of the discontinuities. Combining this information with information regarding the speed obtained by the Doppler effect makes it possible to measure the mass flow rate. <IMAGE>
