PURPOSE:To form a stable stroke, by storing stroke information expressed in vectors and detecting the maximum value of outputs by calculating the inner product of each point, and then, using a feature point corresponding to the maximum value as the bending point of the stroke. CONSTITUTION:Stroke information produced by using a tablet and pen is inputted through a terminal A and stored in a stroke information storage circuit 2. The content of the circuit 2 is successively read out and the starting point is stored in a starting point storing register 3 and the ending point is stored in an ending point storing register 4. Moreover, intermediate points are successively sent to an inner product calculating circuit 6 where the inner product of each point is calculated. The calculated result is sent to a comparator 7 and compared with the content of a maximum value storing circuit 8. Only when the content of the circuit 8 is smaller than the calculated result, a write signal is given to the circuit 8 and a bending point storing register 5 and this value is written as the new maximum value. When this operation is repeated, feature points which give maximum values are remained and a bending point is stored in the bending point storing register 5.
