PURPOSE:To accurately extract a graphic, to which continuity is given by a series of dot lines, out of graphics containing plural line segments independent from each other, by providing a line segment interval arithmetic circuit, arithmetic circuit for calculating direction between line segments, etc. CONSTITUTION:Isolated line segments are extracted by an isolated line segment extracting circuit 3 through a graphic memory 2 from binary graphic data inputted from a graphic input device 1 and sent to another graphic memory 4. The data of the memory 4 are inputted in a comparator 7 through a line segment length arithmetic circuit 6 and only line segments having lengths of a prescribed range are extracted. The extracted line segments are inputted in an inter-segment distance arithmetic circuit 11, inter-segment direction arithmetic circuit 12 segment direction, and arithmetic circuit 10 through a graphic memory 8 and the distance and direction between end points of each line segment are calculated. Results of these arithmetic are inputted in a continuity decision circuit 13 and the continuity of each line segment stored in the graphic memory 8 is decided. Therefore, a graphic, to which continuity is given by a series of dot lines, can be extracted accurately out of graphics containing plural line segments. |
