Sink unit

A sink unit having a basin and a closable waste opening has a disposal chute, which extends downwards from the underside of the kitchen sink and surrounds the waste opening, to avoid annoying odours due to waste being stored temporarily in the region of the sink unit, and has a waste container which can be mounted below the waste opening and can be inserted by lateral bearing elements in guide rails arranged below the waste opening and running transversely to the longitudinal direction of the sink unit and at least approximately horizontally, and has a lid which closes the waste opening arranged next to the basin. A sealing edge of the waste container can be pressed from below against a sealing edge of the disposal chute by means of a clamping device which can be actuated by a carrying handle of the waste container.
