PURPOSE:To transmit data freely to a channel device with the same communication protocol and channel device with a different kind of communication protocol by converting communication protocol in a station and allowing data transmission and reception between channel devices with different kinds of communication protocol. CONSTITUTION:Each station is provided with a converting function for communication protocol and performs usual data transmission when an opponent channel device has the same protocol that the channel device connected to the station, but converts the protocol into that of the opponent device and then performs data transmission when communication protocol is different. For example, a signal from a channel device 1a is transmitted to a transmission line after protocol conversion at the station 2a and received by a station 2b, and further transmitted to a channel device 1b. A signal from the channel device 1b, on the other hand, is transmitted to the transmission line through the station 2b and received by the station 2a, which performs protocol conversion and then sends the signal to the channel equipment 1a. |
