PURPOSE:Vinyl chloride resin thin-wall moldings that is obtained by adding glass short-cut fibers, mica, wood flour, a thermosetting resin and a modifier, thus showing small linear expansion coefficient, good properties and appearance, good moldability and having wood grain patterns suitable for a construction material. CONSTITUTION:(A) 100pts.wt. of vinyl chloride resin are combined with (B) 5- 50pts.wt. of glass short-cut fibers, preferably 0.05-3mm. length, (C) 5-30pts.wt. of mica, preferably of 20mu diameter, (D) 5-50pts.wt. of wood flour dried over 100 deg.C for more than 30min, preferably of 40-200mu diameter and less than 2% water content, (E) 10-50pts.wt. of a thermosetting resin such as epoxy resin, (F) 5- 20pts.wt. of a modifier selected from chlorinated polyethylene, ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer, ABS and MBS, and (G) 1-5pts.wt. of a processing aid selected from MAS and MMA, they are kneaded, then crushed or pelletized. Then, the resultant product is extruded at a temperature lower than 175 deg.C into moldings. |
