PURPOSE:To simplify a valve driving mechanism by forming gears at outer peripheries of both a crank weight and a disc-type rotary valve so as to drive/ rotate the rotary valve. CONSTITUTION:A rotary disc valve 18 is provided with a gear 18d situated at the outer peripheral part of the valve plate of the valve 18. A gear 19d is also formed at the outer peripheral part of the crank weight part 19b of the crank shaft 19. And the both gears 18d and 19d are engaged with each other in order to rotate the rotary disc valve 18, thereby opening/closing an air inlet passage 11. With this contrivance, the valve driving mechanism can be simplified, manufacturing cost can be cut down, a space required for acommodating the driving mechanism can be reduced, and compact structure of an engine can be obtained. |
